Ruby's Balm has always been one of my favorite boutiques to find fun gifts.
It's stocked with candles, make up, lotions, undies, and jewelry ... everything a girl could ask for.
They also some fun and easy guy gifts like this Art of Shaving Kit if you are scrambling around last minute to find something for Valentine's Day, and maybe something for youself while you are it.

Miniumus is a site that pretty much makes mini everything.
I thought these Bachelor Kits were pretty funny.
They created two different styles, one For Him to "throw in the back of his car for any impromptu sleepovers" and then the one that is pictured For Her, "so she has no excuses to not spend the night."
They also have lots of travel kits, office kits, camping kits, the works.
Jill Golden's Flutter NYC has some really trendy and unique jewelry designs all inspired by her travels - hence, Flutter.
She has designs and collections themed around different cities across the world, Barcelona, Capri, Mallorca, Buenos Aires Etc.
She's orginially from Michigan too!
If you know me well, you know I am obsessed with candles and always complaining about how I can never find one with a strong enough smell.
Deliriurm & Co. Candles sent over some samples for our Fox Segment and I finally found my perfect candle.
The silver, black or blue design makes it so the candle always looks new and the edges never turn black like so many candles do. And the simple design looks chic in pretty any area of your place.
Great colors for men too, you know he won't ask for one but a nice candle is something every real man should have.
No girl can ever have enough candles, lotions or body wash.
If you don't know what to get your girl giving her a few little luxuries is always a easy and safe bet. Especially when they are packaged as beautifully as Lollia's products.
Check out Layla Grayce to shop for Lollia products and lots of other equally luxurious and beautiful options.
Check out our friends over at Someonespoilme.com for some great articles and gift ideas.
It's such a cute site!
This article answers the tough and potentially awkward issue of - "What do you do for Valentine's Day if you are in a new relationship/just starting to date"
I know the excitement has died a little, but I still think the Wii is amazing all around.
WiiSports Resort is a great way to pretend you are on the exotic vacation you plan to take after the economy picks up a bit.
And who doesn't love Beatles Rock Band? When I am home for the holidays we have Putnam Drive Rock Band nights ... pretty unbeatable way to spend a night in.
And what a better way to work out than by sitting in front of your tv at home?
The Wii also won Good Housekeeping's Very Innovative Product Awards ... you can't beat that.
I think making little gift packages is the cutest way to give a gift. It's more fun that way, more fun to open, more fun to play with, more fun all around.
Tangerine Smile takes the hassle out of finding all the best ingredients for a perfect package and does it for you!
This girls night set is a great one for your single girlfriends on Valentine's Day. They also have cute ones for those in a relationship, get well soon sets, housewarmings sets, etc, etc, etc
If you follow my blog you know I am kind of obsessed with Chicago's Paper Source.
They have lots of unique little gifts all over the store. I think this water bottle is a cute little gift to give some single girlfriends on Valentine's Day.
They also have lots of cute crafts if you want to make something special for anyone.
These are fun little gifts for friends or daughters on Valentine's Day from See Jane Work. The Sheemergency Kit is adorable - everything you need for any lady emergency that might come up.
The product to the right is pretty cute too. You can't read it but it says "sew chic"... like a sewing kit that's so cute and chic.
I have written a few posts about them in the past, but in case you missed it See Jane Work is a GREAT site to find find gifts to keep you organized, office gifts, tons of stuff for mothers.
If you are from Michigan you probably know about Zingerman's. But Zingerman's is the go-to-place for cookies, brownies and specialty foods of all sorts.
They have quirky and cool delivery packages too.
Great idea to send to someone at college, a thank you or a as a congratulations.
My mom used to send huge assortment packages to my sorority at school for all the girls during finals ... it was amazing.
Gourmetgiftbaskets.com is great. I know the name doesn't sound super unique but they actually do have some of the most creative gift baskets I've seen.
This "Wild About You" is one of my favorites. They pretty much have something for every hobby/type of person/occasion though.
What could be more blissful than a wine and chocolate combo? Bliss in a bottle will dip a bottle of wine or champagne into Belgian chocolate for you and then if you'd like they will customize it to say anything you'd like.
Especially if you've been in a relationship for a while (aka buying valentine's day gifts for eachother for a long time), I think it's a great idea to give a fun or trendy piece of jewelry instead of the typical stuff you usually give her.
Make sure you know her taste pretty well though, as trendy jewelry like this is a little harder to pick out than david yurman or tiffanys....but that's why I am here to help!
Suzanna Dai is a fun site to check out for this type of gift.
Suzie by Suzanna Dai Coral necklace, $180. http://www.suzannadai.com/
2 Weeks:
Think about your plans for tonight. Then get five or six items you can give her during the day that hint at your plans, and send or present them to her throughout the day. Going ice-skating? Give her a scarf. To the movies? Give her a bag of the candy she always eats while watching films. It'll take some time and effort to think of the little gifts, but building her anticipation and showing her how inventive you are will totally turn her on.
1 Week:
Burn a CD just for her. You can pick her favorite songs, songs that are special for the two of you, new artists you know she's never heard but would like, or any other theme. Present it to her in a case with a photo of the two of you on the front, and be sure to include the playlist. It may not seem like a big thing, but she'll think of you every time she listens to it (which will be quite often).
Last-Minute:
A Target gift card will earn you a spot in the doghouse. But a personal gift certificate is entirely different. Whatever you're good at—massages, cooking—make a note card promising your service for free, whenever she wants it. Be sure the card is "good" for several uses. Can't think of a talent to awe her with? Then make the card good for sexual favors.
We can all spare $5.00 for this tragedy. There is no time for "I don't know how, I am too lazy, I don't have the spare time" excuses.
All you have to do is text YELE to 501501 and it will automatically donate $5 for you, after your text them it will ask you to confirm your donation by typing yes and you are all set.
Do your part people!
Yele Haiti Earthquake fund was founded by my main man Wyclef Jean, Haitian-born musician and goodwill ambassador.
The people at Wines that Rock taste wines, listen to albums and pick what they think captures the essence of rock artists like Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones.
Want a super special v-day idea? Pick one of these wines, download the album and arrange a romantic night in.

Finding an activity that you and your Valentine can do together is a fun and thoughtful option for someone who is hard to shop for.
If you happen to live in the Great Chi City, BevArt has lots of options for Beer or Wine Making classes that would make a perfect V-Day Gift.
This pic is from their "Valentines Day Wine Making Class." To clarify, they are not dancing but stomping on grapes.
Gift Certificates include class fees for up to two people, ingredients and equipment, fermenting space, bottles, corks, and capsules and will yield approximately two cases (25 to 30 bottles for wine or 50 to 60 for beer). Make your own labels or purchase custom labels.
Show her how much you want her and only her this Valentines Day.
Spring for a photo shoot for her by Vavoom Pinups. Includes professional hair and makeup and access to their collection of outfits and props. You can pick Pinup style or Budoir (a little racier).
Then decide if you'd like your one-and-only printed on a calendar, playing cards, or a leather bound book.
Ladies, if you really want to be girlfriend of the century, this can be your to him... no more excuses for ogling other ladies after this splurge.
Give an I'm Tired Of... bracelet that will support almost any cause you can think of.
For every $10 bracelet you buy, I'm Tired... donates half the sale ($5) to a cause of your choice. You pick the cause and your bracelet and the donation will automatically be made on your behalf.
You can pick from a huge range of causes, Animal Cruelty, Global Warming, Aids, Breast Cancer, Hunger, Etc.
The bracelets are all eco-friendly, made from recycled tires and metal. Super cute too.
Another great recommendation from a reader - keep 'em coming!
The idea behind this wish list is to make it super easy for you to really "Get What You Want This Year."
You just download the pdf, check off things you think are cool and forward it along to your parents, grandparents, boyfriend, girlfriend etc.
It totally eliminates the need to email a ton of links from a bunch of different sites, tear out pages from magazines or drop oh-subtle-hints all the time. HAPPY SHOPPING! With Love Wish List Final Distributed
While I know you all LOVE reading my take on gift ideas all the time, I figured it was about time to get some other perspectives on the topic. This is my first "Featured Guest Blogger" post, where writers from some of my favorite sites send in their ideas for some of the hottest and latest gift ideas out there.
Today's post is from a great site that I have mentioned a few times previously, www.theundistinguishedeye.com. Reese Pozgay, founder of the site, has seriously great taste and blogs about all that's hot, cool and upcoming. Definitely a great site to bookmark and check out whenever you need a little update on the good life.
Many of you have found yourself searching for gifts on a more restricted budget this year. Fear not. Recession friendly gifts do exist out there for those of you still trying to recover from the storm. As the time for the last minute holiday gift scramble approaches, here are some ideas to help you narrow the search for the perfect affordable men's gifts.
These great Jacobs by Marc Jacobs’s plaid scarves are made from 100% cashmere. They are a really nice item to keep you warm in the winter months and are a great way to get a high end label without the high end price tag, retailing for only $63 at Marc by Marc locations.
Ron English is an American artist who creates highly sought after pop culture paintings and small collectibles such as vinyl toys, mini-sculptures, books, and prints so that his art is not just reserved for the wealthy. English recently teamed up with Tools of the Trade to create 24 x 24” 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles of his famous paintings. The “Mandala Grin” is the first to be released and it is available at the online TOTA shop for $39 USD.
Many men pride themselves on their sock style, but the time for spending $40 dollars on a pair of socks has passed. Luckily, Happy Socks has recently emerged on the market with a plethora of great colors and original patterns. What makes happy socks truly unique is that they retail for only $10. To grab some pairs for your stockings this year, you can find them at Barneys Co-op or at Opening Ceremony.
I know, I know $650 for a mini motorized BMW is slightly ridic...but that's Saks Gift Guide for ya. And don't worry haters, they have Mercedes too.
I couldn't help but post, but to be perfectly clear I definitely DO NOT support buying your kid his first beemer at age 3-5. But if you are so inclined...
Head to your local American Apparel to get a great last minute gift - $6.00 a bottle, just out nail polish.
They have pretty much any color you can imagine with quirk names like "Downtown LA" (a brick red), "Office" (a minty green), "Coney Island" (a bubble-gum pink) and..."Hassid" (a dark black).
Just like their clothes, all polish is made in the US of A.
Gift Certificates are a great last minute gift. Just order and print it off - no overnight shipping costs or trip to the mall. If you haven't checked out restaurants.com yet, you must. It's pretty much the only way you should ever go out to dinner. Use the code below to get $25 gift certificates to well known restaurants for as low as $2.00.
